United Nations Venue Detail
No part of the participation fee is in any form attributable to the access at the United Nations Headquarters. The Participation Fee covers access to all SMMUN materials and programming: committee sessions, preparation workshop and delegate materials at the Double Tree by Hilton New York Downtown. Access to the United Nations Headquarters and the use of its meeting rooms is free. If our request to use their meeting rooms is granted, no additional fees are required from participants. SMMUN is committed to enabling schools to participate for free to events at the United Nations – if granted – without taking part to the SMMUN conference and therefore the payment of any fees. Availability of the United Nations Headquarters as conference venue is not guaranteed, if granted it is subordinate to formal and informal meeting or needs of the United Nations. A reservation of UN meeting rooms, even if previously granted, can be withdrawn by the United Nations at any time.

PARTICIPATION FEES: SMMUN offers full refunds for participation fees until January 31. ACCOMMODATION: Refunds must be requested before January, 31. Refunds cannot be processed after February 1, 2024
No, SSMUN does not charge any participation fee for Chaperones/Faculty Advisors. The only fees are the $45/$60/$80 per student (ie: a delegation of 20 students with 2 chaperones will be billed for $900, $1200 or $1600).
Usually, when we send you our estimate/invoice we schedule its payment in 30 days, but exceptions can ben made. Seats are not secured until payment has been completed. We do offer installment plans upon request.
Our preferred method of payment is with a debit/credi card. We aslo accept check, wire transfers and ACH.
No, SMMUN does not require participants to book rooms at the venue hotel. All teams are encouraged to choose the accommodation that best fits their needs/budget.
Participants are able to book rooms at the Double Tree by Hilton New York Downtown New York directly through us, we will handle everything. Advisors, Parents and Students are kindly advised not contact the hotel front desk directly. They might not be able to answer your questions. Rooms can be Single or Doubles (usually for Faculty Advisors/Chaperones) and Quadruples (2 queen sized beds). Room price is always $269/$289/$310 per room per night. The standard invoice for a delegation of 16 student and 1 faculty advsiors considers 5 rooms (4 student quadruples and 1 single for the FA). Nightly prices for 5 rooms equals to $1345, $1445 or $1550. We usually consider 3 nights, but delegations are free to arrive a bit earlier and/or depart after the end of the conference. Accommodation total for 5 rooms and 3 nights equals to: $3885, $4335 or $4650 depending on the date your registration is completed.
